Shareware is software, which is free for a time period e.g. 30 days. Only status dialogs of the time period are allowed. A shareware release is like a short probe of the program. The user can test the program and after the time period expired, the program is locked.
The shareware modell has the advantage, that there are no costs to distribute the software. The author can share the program on the internet for free.

The security mechanism of the RegisterClip provides locking/unlocking functionality based on time periods. It allows to lock/unlock parts of your programs. So you can provide your software as shareware on your homepage.
